To make money online many people jump right in before they are properly prepared. You know that to be a rocket scientist, a doctor, a brick layer, a construction worker, an office worker, a teacher there are prerequisites, things you must learn, before you can be successful, you don’t just jump right in unprepared.

The same applies to the Internet marketing industry even though there are unsavory people out there who’d have you believe it’s a “Walk in the Park” and requires no more than the belief that you can just do it.

And I’ll have to admit, it is a walk in the park compared to what you have to put up with in the working world punching a clock being a subordinate to someone who does not have your interests in mind, but there are still rules you have to follow and pitfalls you must avoid to actually make Internet marketing work for you.

Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?

My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, “what comes first the chicken or the egg”? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion – I have no clue and I don’t think many of us do either.

But one thing I do have a clue about and know for sure is that to make money online you must first have Passion for the company products and/or service of any Internet business from which you expect to make money.

Passion in this sense simply means that you’ve researched and like the company and products or services. It is then that you translate that like (or Passion) into the education, excitement and work that usually accompany Passion.

I will have to say that many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do that they ignore passion because they can sell anything. But I’m concerned about those of you who are not so knowledgeable at working an online business successfully.

Now, I’m not trying to make anyone believe that Passion is the only thing necessary. Because to be successful you must also have a good website, good marketing, widespread advertising, company support, effective keywords, and etc. Those things are often learned from the company you join – but sidestep Passion and you reduce your chances for success dramatically.

It therefore follows that, if you have no Passion for the company and the products and services provided by that company, again, you won’t attempt to do the work you are being taught…

Internet marketing work is typically not all that difficult or time consuming but it does take motivation caused by Passion to get you off and running with a sustained effort so that you won’t stumble.

You have a great resource in the Internet search engines to search about the Internet Marketing industry for business opportunities, USE IT!

Your research should uncover a company that you like and have confidence in. It should be solid, founded on great principles, and easy to understand with great products and services that are sell-able for which you can have Passion. If you don’t find it move on.

You can find the right opportunity containing the attributes identified above.

Comments like, well, that one sounds good and the compensation plan is excellent so I guess I’ll start that business – does not sound like a decision based on anything near Passion. And remember when you hear that an Internet “guru” does that, don’t be tempted, because as I said earlier they are experienced and can sell just about anything, without being Passionate about the company products and services.

Note: By the way it’s your goal to get to the point where you can sell about anything online. That end skill and goal is a worthy one indeed…

Remember, there are other steps you must make before you step into Internet Marketing but if you don’t first find the right company products and services to be passionate about, all of those other steps may just cause you a lot of frustration instead of bringing you great success.

Not being Passionate about a company and products and services that has market proof that it will sell is a pitfall you simply must avoid.

In internet marketing (the niche that I know best) as well as many other online niches, it’s often difficult to tell who the genuine experts are

That’s important because it makes it difficult to know who to take advice from.

The danger is that you will spend months, or even years, following the advice of someone who either sells you his theory, or who just makes up something that sounds plausible, and doesn’t even care if it’s accurate… as long as it sells.

Yes, there ARE people who will sell you anything and don’t care if it works, but I very strongly believe that they are a tiny minority.

There are also those who believe that you will not buy their products unless they “fake it until you make it.” Many of these people may actually have really good intentions, but since they believe that they have to pretend to be something that they are not, they can be a real threat to your success.

The fake it till you make it types often blur the lines as to what they are actually qualified to teach you. Their perceived dilemma is that they feel that they HAVE TO fake it.

Several years ago, in an interview, I asked my friend and mentor, Rich Schefren, how one overcomes this. Rich explained that it’s as simple as being your authentic self. Identify what you ARE qualified to teach, identify the audience that does want to learn that, and sell to them.

Rich’s advice really boiled down to merely acknowledging that your potential audience members are at all different levels along the learning curve, and you just need to focus on the ones who need the level of guidance that you are genuinely qualified to deliver.

The next pretend expert that you need to be aware of is “the dreamer” who understand on a certain level but have never DONE anything and therefore isn’t 100% certain that what they offer to teach you WORKS. They’ve STUDIED a lot, but they haven’t physically verified what they believe to be true.

These are you armchair quarterbacks, your armchair copywriters, and your armchair marketing experts

I honestly think that many of the armchair experts are most dangerous to themselves. I’ve encountered dozens of them over the years who had studied the same materials that I had, and knew it well enough that they frequently quoted the same people that I did… and often even finished my sentences when I tried explaining something to them.

I say that they were a danger to themselves, because they never moved beyond the knowing stage into the implementation stage, so they could never earn a living even though they understood how! I honestly believe that they were afraid to actually do something, or they were dabbling in too many different things to take any one thing through to completion.

Either way, these are the experts who, based upon being old-timers who have put in the time learning, should be very successful. Yet, they are STUCK at just knowing and won’t acknowledge that they MUST move beyond that.

Then you have the newbie who listens, learns and applies. Some of them move up the ladder very rapidly, and are at the top of the “expert ladder” in 1/10th of the time that others take, and they ARE genuine experts.

Two quick examples of these “doers” are Russell Brunson and Ryan Deiss

I remember when Russell was a college student, wrestling, and then starting to raise a family. He was on the Warrior Forum, aggressively learning, testing, and DOING. Not that much later, I could see that Russell had hit six-figures, and then seven-figures.

I first notice Ryan Deiss in December 2002, when he was an attendee at the very first seminar that ever attended (and spoke at). I don’t believe that he was even 20 years old yet, and he sat there taking and organizing copious notes. He asked deep, relevant questions.

Ryan has now probably surpassed most of my fellow speakers who graced the stage during that era. Ryan now has other very successful guru’s working for his companies

I’m compelled to warn my readers to be aware of the pretend experts and dreamers, but I’m equally as compelled to point out what sets the doers apart!

The “snakes in the grass” will always exist, and part of the reason that they will even thrive is because of customer greed. Greed causes people to make very poor choices.

FEAR also causes people to make poor decisions, and I believe that is what keeps more people who have the knowledge from becoming doers!

To become one of the successful doers, you have to actually, REALLY believe that it is possible. Then you have to believe that it is possible for you.

For me personally, I grew to believe that it was possible, after spending a lot of time hanging around with, and even masterminding with, others who actually walked-the-walk

I grew to believe that it was possible for me after observing that many of the ULTRA successful people that I hung around were really quite ordinary in most respects. I would even dare say that some were of below average intelligence… and I even know that they would say this about themselves.

The differences are:

1) You have to give yourself permission to actually become successful.

2) You need to work on your mindset, because “going big” is largely mental. Once you have the correct mindset, then it JUST HAPPENS.

I know this to be true because that has been my experience. I grew up on government subsistence (welfare) surrounded by poverty and no real mega-successful role models. I did have several teachers who lovingly challenged and inspired me.

I had my big breakthrough after hanging around the ultra successful, and being bathed in their mindset.

They also taught me that the rich and ultra-successful were not necessarily “evil”

That “flow” started me and many of my friends along a path that made success destined to happen. It also programmed us to always be successful even if we occasionally suffer setbacks… because we now understand the path and have that essential mindset.

The final ingredient for me was being actually mentored by an individual who showed me how I was really the ONLY person who could hold me back, and then how to get out of my way and allow unimagined success to flow into my life.

The stuff it takes to succeed online is not as easy some make it sound..that is until you learn

There are many components that need to come into place before things begin to flow like clockwork..

And one problem I notice many aspiring netrepreneurs have is the inability to juggle multiple tasks at the same time. This is very understandable especially when you consider that most people actually do have a LIFE outside of the web. But never the less it must be accomplished.

You see once you learn one step then that eventually leads to another step and then another and another, but what happens is that many drop the last step in favor of the next step when in fact they need the previous steps to still be ongoing. It is like LIFE itself in that multiple actions happen at the same time which bring about a specific effect…just as within your body you have various systems (digestive,nervous,muscular,etc.) that operate all at the same time in order to keep your whole entity going. If one system stops then the whole health is at serious risk…so it is with an internet business.

Now just what are some of these “components”

Things like:

All of the above (plus a few more) need to be going on all at the same time if you truly want success online. The obvious solution is automation which drives so many to waste their hard earned money on”one-click push button” software products. C’mon admit it, you know you purchased one or at least was very tempted to purchase one. Even I pulled out my debit card recently for one called AutoTrafficBuddy because it was developed by some extremely well known marketers with seemingly outstanding reputations, but the end result of the software was me spamming my own site with snippets of my own blog posts being pinged from the auto blogs they were dripped on!

The objective was to create a mini seo empire network with tons cris-crossing backlinks all leading to my main site which is great in theory but once Google cracks down as they have always done in the past then I would be back to square one. And though I do not suggest you give up all your sovereignty to Google, at the same time it would be unwise to deliberately get your site penalized by the most used website people use to find the things they want on the internet.

The more ideal thing would be having real live human beings doing the above tasks which unfortunately is about as far out of the budget range as reaching Mars is for a snail!

Never the less msb has found a way and that way is to outsource the work on Fiverr. Its is a site where you can pay a freelance worker $5 to do just about any task  you need online as well as offline in many cases. Many of them are extremely talented and more than capable of handling any of the above internet marketing components. The only problem is how to sift through the thousands of “virtual assistants” on there in order to find the right one to do a specific “fiverr gig”. No worries though because I’ve got the link to the master rolodex of Fiverr Gigs all rated and grouped according to specific jobs. Now all you have to do is flip through this AllStar Fiverr rolodex, give em five bucks, then focus on the business items you yourself are most talented at.

Did you get that last statement? If not then let me rephrase it: STOP doing tasks that you are not that talented at or that are nonessential when you can get somebody else to do it for only $5!

This is a big secret to how many attain big success in their respective industries…they focus mainly on their strengths and pay others to do the things they are weak at and in doing so they appear to always be great. We were driving down to have lunch, when it hit me…

This whole time I have been surrounded by the Proof of what a Successful Entrepreneur’s Legacy looks like.

We all know the Benefits that come from becoming Successful, but we are hardly told why it is a MUST to reach that goal.

It’s not only about the money. It’s not limited to the Lifestyle that it comes with. It’s not even about the Bragging Rights you get to parade about, to those who told you No.

Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur is about the After Effect that it creates. Not just for your own legacy, but for the Legacy of others.

You see, when we set out to reach our goals, we not only hold our Dreams in our hands, but the Dreams of many to come.

To become successful, one must endure obstacles that many are not willing to partake in. And so the path that we each take, equip us with knowledge that we can share with those whom also wish to become successful.

We can be that light at the end of the tunnel…and we should be!

Going back to that day when I was headed to eat lunch…

Because of his massive success to bring an affordable car to the  American public, he then inspired the building of the highways. Which in turn inspired someone to create a stop sign and then came the stop Light.

The better you can understand WHY they are doing what they’re doing. The greater you overstand the power of their words. The less they will be able to influence you and your judgment.

The core issue is that many if not most of us were taught to accept less in our lives. By our parents, teachers, and the whole system..

When it’s time to change directions, don’t do it suddenly. We as readers (myself included) are so fickle; sometimes our only real loyalty is to our RSS reader. When we see something that interests us, we go check it out. Don’t assume that your readers are eagerly visiting your blog daily, waiting for the next new thing. If you change suddenly, you may never, ever get a visit from that reader again.

We as Sentient Beings experiencing this thing called LIFE must understand that the very word LIFE involves a state of constant motion which can either go in an upward direction or spiral down. Therefore, we must always be on the move improving our current conditions and shun the negative voices out of our heads!

Take a blade of grass for example: how can you truly judge it when it is always in a constant state of growth

The very second you look at it and attempt to gauge its length it has already grown. Although this seems to escape the physical eye, nevertheless growth is still taking place so don’t put too much stock into what other eyes see of you and your striving for evolution.

If you’re always worried what others think then you’ll only do what they want you to do instead of what you’re actually suppose to do. You will be paralyzed by the fear of their tongue lashing and by the lower realms of societal echelon their abasement can put you in….basically scared that your ideals won’t be accepted. But is being accepted really worth it?

Let me scratch the metaphysical surface of this issue by explaining we all start from one cell that duplicates itself growing into the million multi-celled organisms we are today. We grow from and thus,are an extension of one. It’s the same way with people on a social level. We come out of the womb by ourselves and then we meet others one by one. We interact with them for a few moments or a few years exchanging attitudes and ideas. This exchange involves such a mental filtering,sharing, and checks-n-balance process for both parties that the experience becomes an extension for future relations with others. You carry the elements of that interaction with you wherever you go. It is like a continuous process of growing from One or better put growing through One.

FOCUS NOTE: keep in mind that the other person is going through this same process in their life as well.

Even though we grow through others and their many different perceptions,our beings are still based on unchangeable,immutable facts or laws such as:

1. The need to eat…
2. The need for knowledge…
3. The need to shit out that which does not help to facilitate our growth – which can sometimes be recycled into something more useful…

These laws force us to interact with others and at the same time reminds us of the likeness/Oneness we all come from. So where’s the individuality…that sense of uniqueness that defines the YOU who must be accepted and respected? That my friend is somewhat of an illusion. The very word individual is composed of ‘dual(Two)’ and indivisible(That which can NOT be divided)…so this renders the definition to be two things which are contained in one yet cannot be divided.

We have a lower nature where the animal instincts reside and a higher nature where the intelligence that guided our cells to grow and multiply resides. The synergy between these two in its many situations of life is what makes you think of yourself as an “individual”. That’s two realities in one physical organism…you can picture it as a fraction1/2. So as a marketer whenever you seek to make a good product you must multiply with another fraction – interact with someone else.

It’s not a need for acceptance…it’s a need to multiply!

Fearing you won’t get accepted or the potential embarrassment you might face from getting dissed only divides,thus no product can be made. Now lets see how the basics of multiplying fractions are similar ti the three laws above:

• Need to eat = the need for a product/instrument to make a living
• Need for knowledge = to know how many times your numerator can fit into the others denominator and vice versa
• Need to shit = slashing out the numerators and denominators that can no further be equaled out.

What remains is the product that will be accepted in the long tail of an infinity of other products. So I say to the whole entire planet of internet marketers out there: stop trying so hard to be accepted and follow the one command which was given since the beginning of time “Be fruitful and multiply!”

I once listened to a few people talk mild “trash” on me without them being aware -I was seated in an obscure position where I could not be seen- and a revelation occurred to me concerning human behavior:

When people are with a crowd of their family and/or peers they feel very empowered…they do and say things that they simply will not say to your face(for the most part!)

This teaches me that people in general crave being a part of a group and no matter what that group’s intentions are, those within maintain a sense of loyalty that would make the Lone Ranger and Tonto jealous. We simply love to be around people who are like us and we love teaming up for a common cause. Even in the “hood” this exists…why do you think gangs are so big? So how does this all relate to making money online…

…any one of you who aspire to the “DotCom” lifestyle simply has to find others to hang out with in cyberspace just as it is in the real world -Neo found this out too. You have to comment on other sites and/or participate in the various online forums and make friends…it’s all about being a part of a community that looks out for your interests.  So make sure you leave comments here and wherever else you visit. And of course you can always join The MarketSecrets Bloglog community.

Now since I’ve had overnight to reflect on this, I understand that those who were talking “down” on me really do not know too much about me because I keep to myself and rarely have large crowds of people at my house so the only thing they could resort to was to create negative rumors. All this shows is that they actually want to know more about me but just don’t know how to properly go about it…they either want to know what “community” I belong to or they subconsciously desire me to be a part of their “community”.
